Peaceful Patriots will ONLY ever peacefully protest; violence of any kind will not be tolerated.
Anyone who participates in ANY kind of violence is not welcome to Peaceful Patriots.
RULES
Only partake in peaceful actions and messaging.
Violence of any kind will not be tolerated; this includes talking about violence.
No drugs or alcohol are permitted during Peaceful Patriots’ events. If you partake or are obviously under the influence, you will be asked to leave.
Peaceful Patriots does not encourage attendees to legally carry firearms (concealed or open carry), though we respect the Second Amendment right to legally bear arms.
Peaceful Patriots does not encourage signage, music, language or messaging that includes vulgarity or profanity, though we do respect the First Amendment right to free speech.
If approached by law enforcement, remain calm and respectful.
Direct them to the police liaison first, the organizer, or a representative to speak on the organizer’s behalf.
INFORMATION
Carry emergency contacts on your person or written on your hand.
Have a “Know Your Rights” card handy to follow directives and/or to show officials you will not answer questions at this time.
Your phone can be pinged to your location if it is on. Two options:
Leave your phone at home or turned off in your car to avoid location tracking.
Keep your phone on and at the ready to contact EMS or record an incident.
Consider bringing any medication you may need for the next 24 hours.
Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and dress for the weather.
Understand you may be photographed or recorded by the public or press. If you would like to remain anonymous cover your face (mask, bandana), wear sunglasses and non descript clothing, and cover anything easily identifiable (tattoos, dyed hair, etc.).
If attending a protest that may be volatile (ex: MPLS), you may also consider bringing:
First aid kit, gloves (to handle tear gas canister), face mask, goggles (nose covering encouraged), gas mask, bandana
Consider bringing two bottles of water. One to drink and one to use for a medical purpose or give to someone to drink
SAFETY
Be aware of your surroundings.
If you see something, say something.
If there is a verbally aggressive agitator, do not engage with them.
To abide by city ordinances and avoid citation(s), remain on sidewalk/public property.
Make way for pedestrian, bike, and auto traffic.
Keep crosswalk entrances clear at all times.
If there is an agitator causing physical harm, do as many of the following as able: call the appropriate authorities, remove yourself from the situation, record the incident, and remain peaceful.
Have a personal exit plan; note surrounding sidewalks, streets, alleyways, etc.
If you need a medic, cross your arms across your chest in an X and call “Medic!”
Immediate Incident Response Plan
Call 911 for serious or concerning incidents.
Shelter nearby if appropriate; immediately use nearby obstacles or walls as a shield against physical threats or take shelter in a nearby building.
Run from the danger if appropriate; scatter and disperse.
Help others if you can.
Park cars in various spots around the area for safe havens and mobility options.
